Voter Information

To register in New Jersey you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • I am at least 17 years old, and understand that I may not vote until reaching the age of 18.
  • A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
  • You are NOT currently serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction

The registrant must complete a Voter Registration Application and/or Party Affiliation Form. Mail or deliver the Voter Registration Application and/or Party Affiliation Form to: SOMERSET COUNTY COMMISSIONER OF REGISTRATION - 20 GROVE STREET, SOMERVILLE, NJ  08876-9897

May 16 Voter Registration Deadline for Primary Election 
 May 30  Deadline to Apply for Mail-In Ballot for Primary Election
 June 5  Deadline for In-Person Mail-In Ballot Applications for Primary Election
 June 6  PRIMARY ELECTION! 6AM - 8PM
 Oct. 17  Voter Registration Deadline for General Election
 Oct. 31  Deadline to Apply for Mail-In Ballot for General Election
 Nov. 6  Deadline for In-Person Mail-In Ballot Applications for General Election
